Polyteia Founder & CEO Faruk Tuncer discusses how GovTech innovations can help strengthen the trust and sovereignty of democratic institutions.
Berlin, 3. November 2022 – As one of 140 experts from the United States and Germany, Polyteia Founder & CEO Faruk Tuncer participated in the first German-American Future Forum. Organised by the Bertelsmann Stiftung, it took place on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Münster.
In the workshop group "Strengthening democracy at home: Realising Democracy Digitally", he developed recommendations for action for the German Foreign Office and the U.S. Department of State. The group looked in particular at how democratic states can become more resilient with the help of modern technologies. The result is a joint call for the establishment of a standards organisation between the EU and the USA.
Interoperability of software systems in public administration is at the core of fast and resilient processes. We are therefore very pleased that the proposal has been taken up and highlighted by Foreign Minister Anna-Lena Baerbock.
