On 15 May the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag, together with digital association Bitkom, the German AI Association and the German Startups Association hosted a Speed-Dating Event on the topic of artificial intelligence. Seven companies and research institutions were invited to present their solutions featuring artificial intelligence to members of parliament. After introductory speeches by the host institutions, the politicians had the opportunity to visit the companies’ booths and learn about their artificial intelligence approaches in 15 minute long „speed“ presentations. Polyteia presented its intelligent governance platform for local governments. Faruk Tuncer, CEO and co-founder, explained and demonstrated how the platform was already applying artificial intelligence. For example, municipal data which is still kept in analogous documents is already being ingested into the platform through image recognition processes.
At the same time, Polyteia is exploring use cases for Natural Language Processing. Text modules, that are describing graphs and visualizations can be generated automatically. This saves employees time and allows them to focus on the qualitative contextualization and appraisal of the visualized data.
Among the attendees were the CDU faction leader Ralph Brinkhaus, the former Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière and the deputy faction leader Nadine Schön. The attendees asked various questions on the functionalities of Polyteia on the municipal level and potential applications for the state- and federal level.
